My Life in Music
Dr. Hunnicutt has been passionate about piano since childhood, cultivating a lifelong love of music that spans performance, composition, and teaching. He earned his Ph.D. in Music from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has taught at the university level for over a decade. In his twenties, he lived in Germany, where he both studied and taught piano, further enriching his international perspective on music. With expertise in piano technique, music theory, and composition, he brings a broad and deep understanding of the art to every lesson. Students benefit not only from his impressive credentials but also from his thoughtful, encouraging, and personalized teaching style, making him a mentor who inspires both skill and a love of music.
In his free time, he enjoys baking a wide variety of cakes and sweets, experimenting with flavors and techniques, and sharing his creations with others. Music continues to be a central part of his life outside the studio as well; he regularly performs in musical events with friends, some of which are open to the public. These performances allow him to stay connected to the broader musical community, share his love of music with audiences, and enjoy the camaraderie and creativity that comes from playing alongside fellow musicians.
